What is SkinVive?
SkinVive by Juvéderm (previously known as Volite) is a purified form of injectable hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a molecule that occurs naturally in our skin and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. During treatment, tiny microdroplets of a stabilized HA gel are injected into the superficial layers of the skin to restore hydration deep beneath the surface.
Dr. Humphrey refers to this treatment as a “long-lasting, heavy-duty internal moisturizer.”
As we age, HA production naturally declines, lowering the healthy moisture barrier that helps keep skin healthy, radiant, and supple. Other injectables may treat deep folds or restore lost volume without treating the quality of the skin itself. SkinVive occupies a unique space in the injectable landscape because this microdroplet HA gel visibly refines the skin’s surface—improving smoothness, hydration, and luminosity.

Is SkinVive only for the face?
SkinVive is primarily a popular treatment to restore the appearance of the face with a fresher, more youthful look. But it’s also effective for the neck, décolletage, backs of the hands, upper arms (where skin is thin, crepey, and wrinkles easily), and knees.
Delicate areas like the décolletage are optimal treatment zones for SkinVive because of how dehydrated these areas become over time with ongoing UV exposure and environmental pollutants.
The neck is similarly vulnerable to damage. Horizontal lines in the neck (sometimes referred to as “tech neck,” since they’re often a result of looking down at our devices) can be addressed with SkinVive’s microdroplet HA gel injections.
