Michelle has been a long-time HCD patient, and as someone who is constantly on camera and in the public eye, skin tightening felt like a natural next step in her personalized 360° treatment plan.
Recently, Michelle was gracious enough to take time out of her busy schedule to speak with us about her experience with skin tightening.
Where did your personal treatment plan at HCD start? How has it evolved over the years?
I started noticing my skin losing tightness around 38 years old. Dr. Humphrey suggested I try Thermage, and I loved the results. I’ve had Thermage a few times since then. I really believe that the perfect combination of treatments is both short-term (Botox and filler) AND long-term (Thermage and Ultherapy). I recently tried Ultherapy on my eyes. I had become self-conscious of the loose skin that was forming. The results keep improving, and it’s only been a few months. I decided to try my jawline and neck a few weeks ago, and I can’t wait to watch my skin transform.
What motivated you to try skin tightening for the first time?
I was getting self-conscious seeing myself on camera with sagging eyelids and loose skin under my chin. I wanted to see if there was anything I could do to help the visible signs of aging that were happening on my face. I mean – the skin that seems loose and that you can’t fix with Botox – I even consulted with a plastic surgeon, and it really bothered me. I decided that I wasn’t ready for such a serious surgery, and to be honest, surgery might never be my thing. I asked Dr. Humphrey, and she suggested Ultherapy.
How would you describe your skin tightening experience to someone considering trying it for the first time?
Honestly, it was easy. No downtime. It was slightly uncomfortable on my eyes as it was just bone and skin, but the chin and neck area were far less uncomfortable. It feels like a deeper laser than the IPL. It’s also not a long appointment, so I am willing to put up with discomfort for a short period of time.
What was recovery like?
I went straight to work after and felt nothing different.
What changes have you seen as a result of your skin tightening treatments?
My eyes!! I see such a difference in my eyes – less sagging and a more open lid. I love the effects, as they seem to keep tightening over time. My jawline and neck area are still in the early stages, but I see a difference in my jawline.
Will these treatments be a permanent part of your treatment plan moving forward?
I will definitely keep this up yearly. The lasting effects of a tightening program feel good to me. It feels good that I’m not just doing a quick fix, but also trying to slow the effects of aging.
Would you recommend skin tightening treatments to a friend?
Absolutely, I would recommend any treatment at Dr. Humphrey’s office, as you would never get a treatment there that wasn’t specifically right for you. I trust Dr. Humphrey’s recommendations for my skin as they are backed by her extensive knowledge and expertise in the industry. I love going to the best people for my skin. Why settle?
What keeps you coming back to HCD?
Dr. Humphrey and her knowledge of my skin and what it needs. The nurses and staff are so helpful, kind, and positive. You really feel that you are entering a special place, not just a skin clinic.
