What is Tixel® Treatment Really Like? Learn How it Works From a Real Patient

Tixel is making waves in the aesthetic world for its hybrid results; stimulating collagen production and accelerating cell turnover to smooth and refine surface texture as well as tighten skin. Tixel can treat even the most delicate, sensitive areas of the face, and its Thermal-Mechanical Action (TMA®) technology combines both motion and heat to resurface skin with lasting results. We know it always helps to hear from real patients, so we checked in with one of our patients to hear about what Tixel is really like.

A real patient’s Tixel® journey

Beth recently underwent Tixel treatment, and agreed to share her experience. Her story provides valuable insights for anyone considering this innovative procedure as part of their personalized treatment plan.

Initial goals and concerns

Beth came to her Tixel consultation looking to refresh the appearance of her face, with a hybrid of aging concerns. She had tried treatments like IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) in the past, but was looking for a new treatment to rejuvenate the skin on her face.

“I was particularly curious to see if Tixel would be more effective than treatments I’ve had in the past for hyperpigmentation and helping my aging neck,” she shared.

The Tixel® treatment experience

Patients often ask about comfort level during Tixel treatment. Beth found the treatment manageable and appreciated how the numbing cream made her experience more comfortable.  This aligns with what we consistently hear from other patients about Tixel’s tolerability. Tixel allows us to gently, effectively treat even the most sensitive areas of the face. Regions like the periorbital region (crow’s feet, upper and lower eyelids), the perioral region (barcode lines and other lip lines), are especially delicate and not always suited to laser or thermal technologies.

Recovery Process

Tixel is a minimally-invasive treatment and allows for smooth, timely recovery. It’s a minimally-invasive treatment with no need for injections or incisions.

Beth documented her recovery timeline and was thrilled that downtime was minimal with TIXEL:

  • Days 1-2: Experienced some swelling
  • Days 2-4: Noticed flaky texture

“The downtime was minimal. It was good to have a couple of days to let the skin cool, and have the redness and swelling go down.”

**Each patient experience is completely different. Your recovery time, comfort level, and timeline of results will depend on your unique skin type, lifestyle, health, skincare regimen, other treatments, and a variety of other factors.

Early results and outcomes

Tixel results are optimized through a treatment series. We typically recommend 1-5 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart, with gradual improvements following each session. Once the initial series is complete, maintenance treatments may only be needed once a year. Collagen production continues to enhance results long after treatment.

Beth’s results will continue to appear in the coming months following her treatment.  Collagen synthesis subsequent to Tixel treatment will take 3-6 months for noticeable improvement, and scheduled follow-up appointments will document and demonstrate these results.
